"The artist must train not only his eye but also his soul."
- Wassily Kandinsky

The first question you might ask is, "What does yoga have to do with art?" Our response is, "Everything!"

Creativity needs encouragement, it needs attention, and it needs you to use a very different part of your brain than you use at work (assuming your job is not creative in nature). Because La Familia is all about supporting the entire creative process, it seems natural that we offer a way for people to better tap into their creative selves.

Mary Watts is partner in La Familia Gallery and instructor of WarmHeart Yoga. She is a public school teacher who once sought a way to balance the emotional dynamics of her job. It was in yoga that she found a way to give back to herself and to refill after long days teaching. She found her outlet. Her passion for yoga spills out into her evening classes and creates a rewarding environment where one can practice and learn about this ancient art.

A major focus of Mary's practice and teaching style is to highlight and emphasize the importance of personal modifications for safety and comfort during yoga sessions. Mary understands that each person must practice yoga within his or her own limitations in order to have the most fulfilling and enriching experience. This attention to the individual is important within the teachings and practices of WarmHeart Yoga.
